Our mission

work new ways

We believe in a future that we can help shape and thus make better.
In which work is worth something and jobs are secure.
In which we change what is necessary and preserve what is important to us.
In which people can surpass themselves.
Where growth is always sustainable.
Where there is no fear of change, but rather a desire for new ideas.
In which success motivates us to become better, to continue to grow.
And where our development means progress for everyone.

Our sustainability goals

With Agenda 2023, the United Nations has defined 17 sustainability goals for humanity. They relate to the environment, social issues, peace and global partnership. We at DSR Hotel Holding GmbH are committed to these goals and want to make an active contribution to achieving them, not only economically but also for society as a whole. We therefore want to focus on these new SDGs throughout the company as part of our “Green Hospitality” growth strategy.

SDG_EN

Wow, DSR! I like being here.

We offer flexible working time models in all of our buildings that are geared towards the life situation of our employees. We work together to find the right solution for each person. Part-time training is also possible with us.

Together with our partner voiio, we support our employees in all emergency situations around the clock with free 1:1 psychological support. Our employees receive anonymous support 24/7 from a large network of coaches and therapists.

We support our trainees during their training with web-based learning programs. We also encourage them to take part in competitions in order to develop their personal and professional skills. For example, we offer a trainee team cup for all trainees in our group of companies.

With our in-house training program, our permanent employees learn across brands and can thus qualify for the next career step. In addition to specially developed trainee programs, we also offer so-called talents on duty programs, in which we develop employees into future managers. In addition, employees can also complete a “train the trainer” course with us and then give seminars for their colleagues in the stores themselves.

And if an employee does not find the right training course for them in our portfolio, there is of course also the option of completing individual in-service training.

The advantage of our large group of companies is that employees have the opportunity to get to know other locations at any time without having to change employer. Whether for just a few days at short notice, for a longer period of up to three months, a seasonal change or a long-term relocation – we offer our employees complete flexibility.

Every person is welcome in our houses. We welcome career changers in a wide variety of positions in all of our hotels. We are also always happy to welcome foreign specialists to join our teams. We support our colleagues not only with administrative issues, but also with integration, e.g. by offering language courses.

To make it as easy as possible for our new employees, each person is assigned their own mentor. All employees who would like to become a mentor take part in a workshop lasting several days, during which they learn the basics of employee support. Specially developed onboarding processes make it easier for new colleagues to enter our working environment.

Our sustainability measures

For us, sustainability means
that we think about tomorrow,
that we believe in longevity and sustainability.
that we protect what is important to us,
that we promote a good work-life balance,
that we always want to improve,
that we take our social responsibility seriously and work together to create a working environment
in which people can flourish.

In order to get even closer to our goal of “Green Hospitality”, we decided to implement our own sustainability department in mid-2023. Our colleagues scrutinize all process steps and measures and check whether they comply with our sustainability strategy.

With our clear and sustainable focus on “green hospitality”, we want to shape and help shape earth-based tourism. We develop contemporary and future-proof offers that preserve and strengthen places, their environment and culture. We therefore only want to offer products and services that are earthbound, environmentally friendly and regionally anchored.

We are growing in destinations that are already familiar to our main customer base, the German tourism market. In this way, we avoid changes to natural areas and promote and improve existing regions. Our guests should therefore ideally travel by train or car in order to avoid emissions from air traffic.

In addition to an adapted room cleaning schedule during your stay, we do not use power-hungry electronic devices such as minibars, kettles and coffee machines in our hotel rooms.

We have also adapted our processes, particularly in the kitchen. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are an essential part of our buffet and à la carte offerings. Where possible, we use seasonal and regional products and organic food and try to avoid plastic packaging at breakfast and dinner.

Bicycles and e-bikes are available for hire at all our locations. In addition, all properties are gradually being equipped with e-charging stations.

In our SPA areas at the aja Resorts and A-ROSA Resorts, we work exclusively with sustainable cosmetics partners. The following partners await employees and guests at our A-ROSA Resorts:

  • Rituals
  • VINOBLE
  • VOYA
  • Biologique Recherche

In our aja resorts we work together with NIVEA as a partner.

Our product and real estate developments should comply with ESG standards and the European Union’s Green Deal.

Green and climate-neutral construction also plays a major role for us. The plan for our future construction projects is to use modular timber construction. On the one hand, the use of modules leads to a faster realization of real estate projects and, on the other hand, the modules are highly energy-efficient and thus result in a considerable CO2 reduction during construction. The use of wood as a sustainable raw material also contributes to this reduction.

In addition, we will be working with EHA (Energie-Handels-GmbH & Co.KG) from 2024. This will enable us to supply our German and Austrian buildings with green electricity.

Our cooperation partners

In order to achieve these goals, we have taken the above measures and also sought out partners to support us in our “Green Hospitality” project.

The Diversity Charter

The Diversity Charter is an employer initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. The aim is to promote the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the world of work in Germany. We have been a member of the Diversity Charter since November 2023.

GreenSign

GreenSign was born from the visionary idea and ambition to translate the sustainable development of the hotel industry into tangible measurability. For over two decades, GreenSign has been one of the leading sustainability certificates for the European hotel industry with a total of 700 certified companies in 19 countries. The first eight hotels have been certified at Level 4. The certification of the next hotels is currently being implemented.

Too Good To Go

We have been working with our partner “Too Good To Go” at our aja Resorts since June 2023. Together, we save food from our aja breakfast buffet from going to waste. This allows us to handle our food and consumption even more responsibly and carefully, thereby reducing food waste. We are looking into expanding our cooperation.
